The Direct Lineage to Machiavelli are a post-post-rock ensemble hailing from the British Crown Dependency of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Founded in 2016 by conductor and visionary B.E.M. Trachtenburg, DLM invoke a new and totally unheard take on the modern genre of post-rock, dubbing their revolutionary sound "post-post-rock". Utilising a large group ensemble and through the divine influences of Jain meditation and high tea, the collective have struck pure sonic mastery with their debut EP (Opus I), "Observations and Notes from a Conversation with Hades, the Duke of Somerset and Margaret Thatcher".
